Our hearts go out to the families affected by the catastrophic flash flooding in West Texas during early July. More than 119 lives were tragically lost, including 27 young campers and counselors at Camp Mystic near Hunt. The Guadalupe River surged between 22 and 26 feet in less than an hour, sweeping away cabins, cars, and cherished memories. Reports describe heart-wrenching scenes: bunk beds submerged in mud, personal belongings scattered, and heroic rescue efforts involving helicopters, boats, and drones. These heartbreaking moments remind us just how quickly nature can change everything and how important it is to be prepared, even when we feel far removed from the storm..

These are challenging times. We at CENTURY 21 Realty Partners are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to follow best practices to fight the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. For those that have not already done so, we advise you to keep up to date with the latest information and guidance from the Texas Department of State Health Services (dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus).

While it is our intent to keep our offices open as long as advisable, quarantine or other measures may result in some offices being closed during normal business hours. To reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 our offices will have limited staff or agent presence. We will advise if any of our offices close or have restricted hours. Our agents are already very familiar with working remotely. They will continue to communicate with our clients by phone, video, and email, market and show property, write contracts that can be signed electronically, and help transactions close smoothly. If one of our agents is sick or taking care of a family member, another one of our agents will be available to make sure we continue to provide industry-leading real estate service.

- There is a rumor spreading that you must make a claim by Friday, September 1 in order to be covered. This is false. Texas House Bill 1774 is about notice prior to filing lawsuits in regards to claims concerning certain insurance policies. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by Hurricane Harvey and it’s aftermath. It is in times of peril and adversity that we come together to help our fellow human beings. Tomorrow, Wednesday August 30, our Lake Conroe office location will be staffed by our agents from 9-5 to help those in need. Please do not attempt to leave your house or shelter until it is safe to do so. Beware that flood waters are still moving. We will be a drop off point for those wishing to make material donations for those in shelters and those in need. Please keep in mind that money is the most useful donation, there is information on where to give money below. Here is a list of items that are currently being requested at George R Brown Convention Center. In BOLD is highest priority:

Toiletries (travel-size shampoo, conditioner & soap)
Wheelchairs
Bottled Water
Individually-packaged foods (not prepared)
Pillows (not used/secondhand)
Baby supplies (baby wipes, diapers, formula, new clothing)
Towels (not used/secondhand)
Blankets (not used/secondhand)
Toys/Books
Hand sanitizer
Sweatsuits (not used/secondhand)
New L/XL clothing (not used/secondhand)
New Socks/Undergarments (not used/secondhand)
